Giovani lives at home in a tiny flat, looking after and cooking for his mother on very little, as the bills and problems pile up and the traditional Italian holiday draws near. He is persuaded by friends and others to accommodate three more mothers, which he does with charm and grace, and only a little reluctance. It becomes a food filled nonagenarian sleepover catered for by the only cast member under 60. This film, which the Guardian described as one of the most charming of the year, is a joy to watch, a beautiful and sweet comedy of manners. Don’t leave elderly parents at home; bring them with you! Not to be missed.
